Chump, let's remember how he started

Sep 22, 2019, 8:35 PM

This man was the NEXT one when at Texas. Many thought him to be the next up and coming HC. Many within our fanbase once upon wanted him, based on what everyone thought about him at the time.

That said,

he's ben reduced to haing to beat Kentucky , yes Kentucky to keep his job LOL

Wanting coach Boom as an untested commodity isn't a big deal. Hiring coach Boom after he fails horribly at UF is idiotic. This is part of what Coots are being tortured by now. All their Clemson friends said it was a stupid hire and he would fail and here they are staring down a 3 win season.

Yep three wins max. The only chances they have left are Tennessee and Vandy.
App State is clearly better than they are.

IDK... I will be honest in thinking Muscoot didn't quite get a good shot at UF. Sure, he had a long L streak (and how they lost) but cleaning up after Urban was a bit more intensive in some areas, playing true freshmen etc. Heck, he accomplished more in 4 years at UF than the coots have in the SEC

As for the coots. Well, the problem is that he is coaching for the coots. I can kinda see the thinking by the coots for hiring a SEC winning coach that wasn't given patience... but still, if the coach can win a Natty at a traditional power, he will be lucky to be .500 as the coot coach. But hey, one bad decision can kill a coaching career and while not all are coaching the coots, the coots are the easiest guaranteed path.

They were just using normal Coot logic. "If Clempson

Mack Brown said on the ACCN a couple of weeks ago that the biggest mistake

Sep 22, 2019, 9:11 PM

he made in his final years at Texas was giving too much control to his assistants. It’s pretty apparent now that Muschamp was a big reason for the decline at Texas. Everyone was fooled into thinking he was a big reason for their earlier success. Mack’s worst season was chump’s last year.

The comparison with Ed Orgeron is pretty instructive. His Ole Miss gig was pretty much a failure, and some of the stories about his behavior and motivational tactics are laughable. But he learned. He was legit for the USC job, though he didn't get it; and now LSU might be the second best team in the land and on an upward trajectory. Whatever Orgeron is, he isn't the dumb ox he might have seemed to be.

Meanwhile in Columbia....

Orgeron is doing well at LSU, but they have a lot more to prove before I would place them ahead of Alabama, UGA, Ohio St, or Oklahoma.
