Chip Kelly to LSU?

Oct 7, 2016, 11:00 AM

It's not working in SF. They are starting their second best QB for political reasons in a college style offense that would likely put up major points against Bama. If Ole Miss can do it with Swag why can't LSU with all of the talent they always get.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You think they're starting their 2nd best QB for political

Oct 7, 2016, 11:08 AM

reasons? Do you actually believe that?

Do you really want to argue that Blaine Gabbert is better than Kaepernick who led them to a Super Bowl appearance and 3 NFC title games?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

do you believe that he he is worth 14 million a year?

Oct 7, 2016, 11:17 AM

He asked for too much money and now isn't worth the pay.

Absolutely not! I wouldn't pay him that kind of money to be such a limited thrower but everything is relative he is the best QB on the team until they draft DW

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, I'm arguing that an NFL franchise will do anything to

Oct 7, 2016, 11:21 AM [ in reply to Re: You think they're starting their 2nd best QB for political ]

win, and a coach who is basically on his last chance as an NFL head coach will not bench a QB who is a better player just for political reasons. Especially not in San Fransisco.

The data does not support Blaine Gabbert as a better QB than Kap.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

What data do you have that Kaep is better?

Oct 7, 2016, 12:05 PM

Oh let me guess, you're better at evaluating talent than the 49er coaches right?

Look at some of the criminals starting around the NFL. Do you really think a QB would be held back because he kneels for the national anthem, in San Francisco no less, if he was better than the starter? So why was BG the starter before all this went down?

Jeremy Kerley is SF's #1 WR. Let that sink in.

Oct 7, 2016, 11:27 AM [ in reply to Re: You think they're starting their 2nd best QB for political ]

Gabbert's not all that good but Jermey Kerley is the #1 WR. Talk about lack of talent to throw to.

he would never leave his new job after one year for a downgrade

Oct 7, 2016, 11:14 AM

no matter how bad the 49ers suck....especially for LSU.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: he would never leave his new job after one year for a downgrade

Oct 7, 2016, 11:16 AM

LSU wants to be Bama and Saban is making 7 million a season or 1 million more than Kelly with the 49ers. Unfortunately that is 24M over 4 years so very little chance he leaves now.

they didn't cut him for political reasons.

Oct 7, 2016, 11:16 AM

They are paying him around 14 million a year and he sucks. They already paid this years salary to him. He gets cut as soon as the season ends.

See previous post regarding Blaine Gabbert

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Gabbert makes 2 million a year for below average qb play.

Oct 7, 2016, 11:21 AM

Why play a guy that cost 14 million a years for below average qb play.

Because he is better than the QB you are currently playing. You aren't making sense

Bobby Petrino would be a good fit at LSU.

Gabbert wasas starting before Kaepernick wasn't standing so you can't say it's for political reasons especially when he's making 14 million

Re: Chip Kelly to LSU?

Oct 7, 2016, 11:45 AM

SF is starting their best QB..Black Lives Matter Kaepernick has not been any good for several years now. He apparently would rather protest than improve his game by practicing a little harder. He will be let by end of the season. Because of him, the NFL is taking a financial hit right now.

Re: Chip Kelly to LSU?

Oct 7, 2016, 12:53 PM

I really don't get the love affair with Chip Kelly. Dude got all his notoriety with a spread offense that pummeled weak defenses in a defense-weak league, which couldn't perform against top defenses from other conferences.

He's tried to implement his offense twice so far at the NFL level and it hasn't worked out well at all. Look at how much better the eagles are doing this year without him!

LSU can have him if they want, but don't act like he will be the next Saban, LOL.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Chip Kelly to LSU?

Oct 7, 2016, 4:04 PM

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the 49ers and Colin Kaepernick are "closing in on" a restructured contract that would alleviate the concerns regarding the injury guarantees in Kaepernick's current deal.
This is a sure sign coach Chip Kelly is considering a quarterback change. The 49ers have pointed to Kaepernick's slimmed-down physical condition and poor practice habits as the reasoning for him not playing, but the reality is they can't put him on the field with a boat-load of money tied up in injury guarantees, meaning if Kaepernick were to get hurt playing, the 49ers would be on the hook.
