Chart shows US deaths per million habitats fairly low compared to other countries.

Saying..considering our rather slow start & less awareness as a country of past pandemic risks & experiences (as Asians are).

Still, too many Americans died..for many reasons.

And many more will die because of dumb decisions being made to open up everything as before. Wait and see!!!

exactly.
or - expect the govt to pay you to not work.
or - dont understand that most everyone will at some point be infected and almost all will live
or - dont understand that the flattening was to prevent overrunning of the medical system - clearly it is not.
or - dont understand the impact to all that will occur by staying shut down. drugs, murders, mental health issues, medical issues not named covid19 that are being ignored, crime, food shortages, etc etc
or - dont understand that you and or your descendants will end up having to pay back these "stimulus checks, sit at home dollars, etc at some point.

Many more will die regardless of opening or closing businesses. There are a number of people who will die and many others suffer when we fall into a major recession or depression.

66% of the deaths in NY are from those who were staying home.
Many folks have been dying every day from something. We can just
protect ourselves the best we can and open up.

what scientific facts are you basing your "opinion" on?

May 7, 2020, 11:19 AM [ in reply to Re: Chart shows US deaths per million habitats low compared to other countries. ]

I think it's been here for a long time. There is a thing called herd immunity. My family caught it on Valentine's day. We stayed in a mountain cabin with another family, the wife had just flown in from Chicago and said she started feeling weird. It was very bad. At one point i drank 3 jugs of pedialyte in one day and i was still pissing brown. I was scared my kidneys were going to fail. DR said i had the flu and bronchitis at the same time...

how can there be entire prisons, pork processing plants, etc that have HUNDREDS of people infected and asymptomatic.

it's time to cut the BULL and move on. We did a good job flattening the curve. We're better prepared than ever. NYC, Chicago, etc may need more time because of their population densities.

Dont confuse what you hope will happen with reality. NY discovered that 66% of people who have been hospitalized reported they had been observing lockdown restrictions. So much for hiding under your bed keeping anyone from getting this. Opening things up can't result in much worse results than what they found.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.
