Change to the Tombstone Policy
Dec 15, 2017, 1:02 PM

With our current level of success, I think we should change the Tombstone policy to only be built when we beat a team ranked above us on the road.
(Excluding National Championship Games of course)
Tombstones only for teams ranked above us: [Results]

individual tombstones for major championships, one tombstone

for all the regular season ranked wins on the road (except Notre Dame in 2020, that should be its own stone made out of Lugubrian marble). There's a tombstone with multiple games/years on it already so there's precedent.

hmm I like that. How about 1 for every ranked team on the road, and then a single for every team ranked above us top 10 minimum?

As we continue to take care of ranked opponents on the road the "grave yard" space has decreased in size. I know parking space is at a premium now due to all the construction taking place. Rather than increase the current "grave yard" I recommend that we move it from the current location, which in turn would free up valuable parking space. The perfect place to move the "grave yard" after a proper ceremony would be "The Hill" since the students won't use it!

Absolutely change it. Also, do a "mausoleum" for this year.

I mean, the Cards, coots, wolfpack, and VT don't really deserve individual monuments. Great wins, but let's just put them all on one headstone.

Is there a tombstone for #4 Nebraska in the 1982 championship game? Thanks.

for a bowl win.
The original meeting was beating a ranked opponent IN THEIR HOUSE. Now it’s beating a ranked opponent AWAY FROM DEATH VALLEY.
Big difference in my opinion.

celebrate minor wins with a bunch of meaninless memorials.
It's the sort of thing that programs do when they aren't really secure in their status.
Do away with the tombstones altogether ... or at least limit them to *really big wins* on the road.

I don't mind parking on fake Graves and I would be sure not harm the tombstones!

I certainly hope we don't legitimize that team as a "ranked" opponent.

I love the tradition, but we are eventually going to run out of space if we keep using those huge headstones, ontop of the fact that those things are expensive. I wouldn't mind seeing us move the cemetary and do smaller monuments rather than full-on headstones just for space reasons.Something more like FSU's Sod Cemetary.

Need to celebrate them all. But would be ok to have one for each year with each listed to save space. Include championship games and bowl games.
