Can't make this stuff up -- UNC Basketball

I have a sales rep I've worked with for about five years now. He's a UNC alum and has come to be friends with Roy Williams since he was hired at UNC. For the entire time I've known this rep, he's always told me that if for whatever reason I ever wanted tickets to a UNC game that he'd get them for me. Well a few days ago I asked him for 4 tickets to the UNC-Clemson game on 1/26. He called me back today and said he has the tickets for me and they're close to the UNC bench. He then said, "the thing is, you can't wear orange and you can't cheer too much for Clemson or Roy will have you thrown out." Seriously? His team lost to Belmont and UAB and he's worried about what colors the fans are wearing? I'm not the type to go in another team's house and make an @$$ out of myself but that was a little ridiculous.

Being prohibited from wearing the visiting team's colors is pretty standard for guest of the athletic program. At least I know Clemson, USuC and Duke all do it.

The OP isn't a guest of UNC. Why would Clemson

or any other school invite a fan of any opponent and stipulate that they couldn't wear their team's colors? Does that make any sense? Not saying it isn't true just stupid.

I just know if you are sitting in the "recruits" section of DV or at s carolina they will not allow you in the stadium wearing the opponents colors. You have to go change clothes. Also a friend of mine went to the Duke/CU Basketball game a couple of years ago using Duke's athletic tickets and he was told beforehand he could not wear Clemson clothes sitting in that section.

Guest of an Alumni????
AD, I can see where you don't call RW a sunny beach, and you can always wear orange without logos(UNC is in Orange County, right?).
Alumni, wear what you want as long as it is representative of the school you support. Yell what you want within reason. No one, including the UNCheats, have the right to suppress your First Amendment Rights.
They can wuss up the Dean Dome all they want.

I think it's just your friend's way of saying "if you screw this up then I won't get anymore tickets." It's all about him; Roy can give tix to whoever he pleases.
I don't think a bright orange shirt and a sign that says "Thanks, Roy!" would work either.

So believe me I'm familiar with the "don't screw up or you'll never see this ticket again" policy. I wasn't even really shocked when he said not to wear orange. And like I said in my post I'm not the type to go and raise he!! In enemy territory. But seriously? Don't cheer too loudly? Absurd. Makes me hate the blue bellies even more, and I hope this is the game we somehow break the streak and I'm there to see it!!

There was an incident a few years ago at UNC where Roy had a fan from the other team thrown out for cheering for their team. I think it was UNC-Wilimington.
