Tonight's CFP ranking will be.

1. LSU
2. Ohio State
3. Penn State
4. Clemson
5. Alabama

Twitter will explode with Bama angst and SEC homers with their panties in a wad. The committee will reward LSU's, OSU, and PSU schedule. This is consistent with what they have done in the past. Bama will get dinged for their weak schedule (just as Clemson has). Bama's schedule will drastically improve in November....but right now, it is embarrassing. Why the National Media isn't talking about it more is amazing and a topic for another thread.

Suddenly the CBS/ESPN "Game of the Century" will pit the #1 and #5 teams against each other. It'll be fun to see them discuss that.

Clemson is positioned right where it needs to be. Win out and we'll be no lower than #3 in Mid-December. It's a great time to be a Tiger.

I don't expect the committee to fight the Bama battle when they know their game this week will determine their worth moving forward.

Also even though Bama is maybe down a little, they still look better than Penn State on a week to week basis.

Penn State and LSU have similar resumes and similar "eye test"/avg margin of victory.

I don't see how the committee could justify putting LSU ahead of Bama and not Penn State also.

I think the original poster is on the right track as to what the rankings "SHOULD" be, I personally think it should be

1 Ohio State (2 current top 25 wins and DESTROYING everybody)
2 LSU (2 current top 25 wins and has "eye test" over PSU)
3 Penn State (2 current top 25 wins and has similar avg margin victory as LSU)
4-5 Bama/Clemson (we have a better "strength of record", but they don't have the "close win" like we do, but they should be back to back)

Perhaps they look better because the level of competition they have played suck.

Clemson would look mighty impressive playing Wofford every week.
