Until the Hornets & later the Panthers became household words.

Always thought that strange since Queen Charlotte was wife of England's King (George) who founded the 1st Colony in America..on Roanoke Island where Andy Griffin lived & died.

Anyway..it's going to be the City that's going to host the new ACC Champion CLEMSON TiGERS!

Charlotte is the 2nd biggest banking city in the US BEHIND

New York. And is the biggest city between Atlanta and DC, so Charlotte put the hornets and the panthers on the map

it was the biggest city between Atlanta and DC 20-25 years ago,even longer, it wasn't the 2nd biggest banking city until some time in the 90's when it overtook San Fran to be so.

Actually, the population of the city of Charlotte is larger than Atannta. The Atlanta metro
population is larger.

Metro Atlanta is about twice the size of metro Charlotte.
