C-L-E-M-S-O-N Chant question

Sep 8, 2014, 9:24 AM

what is said after the "fight tigers! fight, fight, fight?" "fight like hell #### it, and win"? Haven't heard that part before. At the UVA game last year and didn't hear it from the Clemson fans.

Real nice for all of the youngsters to hear!

Lighten up, Dad.

Sep 10, 2014, 8:22 AM

That IS what they/we say, and have for years. I heard it when I was a kid, at the games with my Dad, and I'm totally fine!

Fight like h3ll, d@mn it, and win!

Sep 8, 2014, 9:42 AM

idk, when I was a student it was part of it, albeit not as many people participated in that part, but it was there

Whatever you do, always give 100%.....unless it's donating blood

IIRC, it's "Fight, D@mn it, Fight!!!" not fight-fight-fight

You're confusing 2 different chants...

Sep 8, 2014, 10:21 AM

The "fight like hell, ######. And win!" comes after the "Go Tigers" part after the Tiger Rag (after a score). It's not part of the Cadence Count.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This is it I think

Sep 8, 2014, 10:24 AM

As others have pointed out, the "fight, fight, fight" used to be "fight, ######, fight fight."

The "fight like hell ###### and win" is at the end of the "Go Tigers"/drumline thing that the band does after Tiger Rag.

well now.......I am really confused. I heard it yelled after the cadence count all day Saturday, really audible from the student section. Not after Tiger Rag was played. We sat in the Clemson section at UVA last year and never heard the "fight like hell #### it, and win. Can't find any video of it on Youtube either. Didn't mean to start a $hitstorm, was just curious b/c it was new to me. Any cheerleaders on T-Net want to answer the debate?

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Hmm...that's a new one on me

Sep 9, 2014, 2:37 PM

I've never heard that after the cadence count...maybe its something new the students are doing.

The original cadence count ends with "Fight, tigers, fight, d@mmit, fight, fight!" Always 2 "fights" at the end because it ends on an even count, which is the count soldiers stop on when they halt in a march.

After the C-L-E-M-S-O-N in Tiger Rag the drumline plays the "Go Tigers" cadence and then ends that with "fight like h3ll, d@mmit, and win!".

That's how I always understood it too***

Clemson cheerleader from 1965-1968; you're correct:

Sep 10, 2014, 7:00 AM [ in reply to Tiger Band member here... ]

there were two "fights" after the "d@mmit," and nothing following.

But the most notorious of all cheers was the infamous "Rat sh*t" cheer...always done away from the stadium, but often enough (in my time) on the quad, some times across campus, and all the time in the tin cans. lol

Amen! And as far as I'm concerned, anything else is about as wrong as it can be and downright anti-Clemson...... sorta like the woooooo hoooo.
