If it's a PC make sure your audio isn't going elsewhere.

If you have monitor hooked up with HDMI the PC probably is sending audio that way by default. USB connection may override it but headphone jack may not.

yeah, looking at those it shows you should be able to:
I would say your 3.5mm port is bad. If you can open case, and check the solder around the jack is your only hope.

TRRS instead of TRS which is probably what the headphone port on your computer is looking for.
You need a headset jack, not a headphone jack for it to work without the USB.

It says "not plugged in" and it is clearly plugged "ALL THE WAY" in.
I stuck it in my coworker's hole and it definitely worked with him. Guess I need a USB splitter.

Computer was missing the driver for Waves MaxxAudio Pro for Dell.
Funny I could not access it via online b/c company blocks installs, coworker sent a link to Microsoft store (I could not locate via Microsoft store), installed driver now I be like
