Clemson baseball in free fall

May 11, 2014, 8:50 PM

I was in the stands during Jacks first season. Thought the sprint into the circle of players was cool. Loved watching us win back to back ACC championships. Was there when we took series from top ten Miami and GT, losing to the coots was unthinkable, and we put pitchers in the Majors fairly consistently.

Fast forward 20 years: we have won one ACC title since then (1994). We now lose to every quality team we play, are owned by the chickens, and just lost a series to a terrible team in grand fashion.

Jack Leggett has killed this program, plain and simple. Yes, one can point to the CWS run in 2010, but it ended complete implosion to the coots, and frankly, this program has never been the same since.

New life, new blood, new outlook is what we need. I have been behind Jack until last year, and this year leaves no doubt that the time to hand the ball to a new coach has come. Clemson baseball has gone from the best Clemson program to maybe the worst.

Ever since the bat change, we have stunk it up. Now you can't just out bomb other teams, you have to coach. Notice a trend here?

But moving the home plate up helped, right?***

Look into the Libert and CofC coaches.
