I can't imagine not having a smart phone would dramatically change my behavior, or how my year went. If people are this addicted to smart phones we all deserve to go extinct. Turn off all electricity for a year and let's get this ship turned around.

Lets see one live without electricity in the wilderness for 1 year then we can talk. Ditching a smart phone is easy, especially when you can still use laptops and make calls/texts

few hours without going into a homicidal rage. I see how frustrated they get when I'm honking at them at a green light to go because they can't get off their phone...I imagine an hour without any sort of electrical device would legitimately have them homicidal.
I think about this some, particularly since we've had some power outages in the area this week...I think if the power went out the toughest part would be surviving the subsequent couple of weeks. You've got at least half of the population that have no physical skills or attributes. They're ###### without modern technology and conveniences. You'd just have to outlast them without getting overrun, once they died off I think you could get back to some semblance of civilized society.

if I didn't have to have one for my job duties. I can't get around that unfortunately.
From 6pm to 8am every day and most every weekend, I never lay eyes on my phone. A phone is a total painintheass to me. Always has been.
If this offer still stands when I retire, I'm all over it.

I need a phone, with speaker. That's IT. Does that count as a Smart Phone? If it does, then no deal. I'd lose my job and salary if I didn't have a cell phone, with speaker. I can do without text, email, etc.
But for $100K, I'd go back to a dumb phone in a heartbeat.
