3 things...

Aug 3, 2012, 9:40 AM

1. Boyd is 220 with a washboard
2. Receivers are bigger than the RB only ripped!
3. Tig Willard is a freakin beast!

A few things:

1) Brooks is still a bit light - 189...could put on 12-15 more pounds
2) Dabo's not happy with Region
3) Shatley's a bit fluffy, but he's the strongest guy on the team so it's cool
4) Nuke has put on about 10 pounds of good weight...he's a beast
5) Brandon Ford is at a good weight of 242. Ideally, you could get him up to the 247 range
6) Stephone Anthony is prototypical size for a MLB. He may have to slim down if he has to move over to WILL next year when Steward comes back (I think Steward is built a little more like a MLB...and that Anthony is so athletic in coverage that WILL is a great spot for him)

Yeah, I was suprised with Boyd.

He was heavier than I would have liked, but it seemed to be mostly muscle. He's definitely a threat for a short yardage run.

220 is perfect if he can stay there all season.

I swear he looked like we was in the 235-240 range near the end of last season.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

another site reported he was @ 245 at one point last season.***

heavier than you thought? He's practically back to the same size he was when we recruited him but with added muscle....

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Aug 3, 2012, 9:48 AM

In other words, he hasn't lost much of anything.

33 pounds isn't that much in a year and a half for a guy that big. Look at Dabo's reaction when they say his weight. Not a happy camper.

LOL, I get your joke, but 8.5% is not a huge weight loss. He should be down around 335. Mistyped at 6.5%. 8.5% is not the goal, I'm sure.

didn't say that, but he's still going in the right direction. Gotta remember he's a RS Frosh. He made a mistake and blew up during recruitment and there after, but if he keeps working he can be starter for 2 or 3 seasons....

I doubt his problem is not working hard enough. Somebody better keep an eye on what he's eating, though. That dude needs to be on a low-carb diet. He's gonna have to drop another 25 lbs before he'll be ready to crack the top 5.

I'm sure they've got him on a diet...whether he's following it correctly is anothe story....

Yeah, that's what I meant. They need to put a spy on him to keep him honest.

Aug 3, 2012, 10:18 AM

Spencer Region For the Record

Aug 3, 2012, 1:03 PM

I saw him all the time in harcombe these past two semesters. He would consistently be eating plate after plate of pizza, hamburgers, and hotdogs, and would end up with a minimum of 6 or 7 plates. Now I understand that big guys eat a lot of food, but it kind of made me mad a little. He is on scholarship to play football, but it didn't seem to me like he was trying to eat right.

That being said, I talked to him multiple times, and he was a very nice guy so no disrespect. It just frustrated me.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

you should have tried to take away his plate

Those 2 words stuck out in my head the most too. 239?!? That is scary.

Well one thing is for sure: serving fried chicken and taters

Aug 3, 2012, 1:17 PM

at the new training table is NOT how we are going to get guys like Region to shed weight. Didn't we just hire a nutritionist in the S&C program??

Screw Calford.
