Brownell knows...

Jan 4, 2015, 6:33 AM

Brownell knows he can't be fired because of the ridiculous buyout D-Rad gave him.

He has 3 more years.

Look at Virginia, yes, they have much more of a basketball tradition than we do, but, they are not in a big city, somewhat remote, yet are ranked #4 in the country.

They did build a new arena a few years ago, but have spent money on "name" quality Head Coach.

Even with the buyout,Brad should know he is not going to win many games with the talent he has.
I still can't understand his inability to recruit some shooters.Yes,he is a defensive minded coach, but defense is not going to win you many games unless you go back to the days of no shot clock and run the four corner offense.
Maybe being in a small town, not playing in a fancy arena might have something to do with it,but I doubt
it.We have now started ACC play, and from what I saw last night we might even have a hard time beating Miami, which took # 4 Virginia into OT yesterday.
From what I have seen,we will have a hard time even hanging with Notre Dame, and you can forget Duke.
I doubt they have a poor shooting game like the last time they came to Littlejohn, and I think we go
there this year.

No coach is safe in year 5...

Under a different AD that didnt hire him. Even if with a contract extention, if things go real bad he will not be back.

The safety he has is that Radakovich will not want to admit to a $5 million mistake.

we keep playing like last night and it will kind of force his hand.

Brownell's teams do seem to get better as the season progresses, but thus far I see virtually no improvement in these players from last year. I have no idea what they were doing this summer, Knoko most certainly was not refining his post moves.

We regress every offseason. I seriously do not understand how or why.

You obviously haven't spent much if any time with Brad. He could care less what he is getting paid or what his buyout is. He simply goes to work everyday and works to get better. That's all he is focused on. I guarantee you that he didn't sleep last night. Any. At all. Heck he may not have even gone home. He is that driven and determined. He will make it work or die trying. Now, what other type of person would you want running the program you love?

Are you nuts?

He doesn't care about what he gets paid or his buyout?

If that is true, we should fire him for being stupid.
