The nature of the new era in recruiting for Major college sports is transfers. Gone are the days we can count on recruiting some 17 year old 5 star. Now it’s about managing transfers. Brownell seems to get that and Dabo unfortunately may be too old school to realize it. Sure we may win a few more National championships in football but it’s about winning the war not a few battles. Hope Dabo realizes this soon.

I'm not sure Dabo really has an issue with taking a potential transfer if he really felt they filled a need better than someone he already has. His issue has been about not taking JUCO players. I also don't think we need a priority focus around players who could not get enough playing time elsewhere. Basketball has a different focus because some of these players coming through transfer would never have considered Clemson initially.
Trust your coaches and trust the process. They have proven to be pretty accurate and reliable with their decisions.

...when you've got Dabo and team recruiting so well that some 4 and 5 star players have a tough time making the grade and choose to try to better their position for possible NFL opportunities by transferring.....then you are in an extremely good and enviable place. Transfers are going to happen, Clemson has been mostly on the sending side of that, not the receiving. Most of the ones that have left have not done anything of note in the NFL.
Brownell hasn't, and will not likely ever sniff the rarefied air that Dabo has ascended to. Honestly, I'm not sure of the point you're trying to make. The two are not comparable in any substantial way.

Yeah I think it's close. It seems like Basketball is about 5 years ahead of football, with the one and done vs. Three and out , well that's just my opinion. Go Tigers.. Peace
