Columbia/Lexington with Dabo and didn’t look like a guy worrying about his job security much. I guess the meeting DRad soon is just typical...

Those that follow Clemson sports know that they meet every year at the end of the season. Those who know Clemson basketball history know he will be back next year

University employees set yearly goals and get evaluated at the end of the year on those goals and overall job performance. I'm guessing this is why they meet after each season.

I’d be in good spirits too if I made 2.5 million dollars for doing an average job, and still had the majority of my fanbase happy with my performance.

Brad isn't getting fired this year.***

Would be fired if we were in the SEC! We've missed the boat with a ton of good coaches holding on to BB.We must have some serious low expectations based on his overall performance in 9 to 10 years.

What good coaches have we missed out on? Don't think you understand how Clemson basketball is one of the least desirable coaching positions among the Power 5.

If his buyout is what USAToday is reporting

we're stuck with that guy for awhile. Thanks DRad.

You can't have a coach without a buyout

Also, i don't think Brad's is very large and his new contract actually lessened the buyout. Some of you message board AD's are hilarious. It's very easy to sit behind a keyboard and ##### about stuff, but most of us have absolutely no clue at all about how this business is actually conducted.

And some of you people who post and insult others

without knowing facts even more hilarious. Do me a favor and read the far right column of #29 and tell me what you see:

https://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/mens-basketball/coach

They get that info for the database from contract requests from the athletic departments. The reduced buyouts were from the 2017 extension, not the one last July.

https://www.shakinthesouthland.com/2017/4/20/15374454/clemson-extends-contract-of-brad-brownell

It clearly said in the press release for the extension last July that along with his 6 year $15 million deal, "buyout provisions and performance incentives were changed."

https://www.independentmail.com/story/sports/college/clemson/basketball/2018/07/19/clemson-approves-new-contracts-brad-brownell-brent-venables/743175002/

So, either the Independent Mail and USA Today are wrong with what they posted or we're stuck now with a much higher buyout than the year before. Maybe you should actually be informed before you start insulting people and TD'ing. If you have info that contradicts what's in writing above, then please feel free to share.

Good grief that contract looks bad right now

I'm just trying to figure out for sure what the real number is. Nobody seems to know. I do think it's odd that the press release for the 2017 extension had all the buyout reductions spelled out but the one from last July seems kinda secretive. I've looked everywhere and can't find it. I'm hoping the USA Today number is wrong, but it would make sense given his new salary. Might be why it took them over 4 months to ink that deal. He was expecting it soon after the tourney last year. I will say if that buyout number is accurate, he has one heck of an agent and Clemson got lured into a pretty poor deal for a coach with an average record at best.

The intrepid reporters that cover Tiger sports and have occasional access to DRad did not do a great job following up to confirm the buyout details of Coach Brownell’s 2018 contract extension. If one did ask DRad and he declined to answer, they should have issued a FOIA request.

Perhaps reporters close to the program don’t want to push that hard for fear of losing their access.

Yep I was hoping somebody on here had access to that kind

I've asked you point blank before and you conveniently ignore...what is his current buyout? How about quit recycling your same excuses over and over and answer the question since you seem to know so much about Brownell.
