Not a lot of those left . We called them T-29s in USAF . Maybe a C-130 ? (4 engine ?)

Gotta be a C-130 or a KC-135 (refueling version of same aircraft). I’ve been seeing Ospreys (tilt rotor aircraft) flying over Florence pretty regularly for about a year.

Seems like it would be a C-5. I thought C 131’s were out of service.

Most C5s have been replaced by C17s. Definitely no mistaking a 130/131 for a C5. 141s are long gone. What say you Spud? Props or Jet?

Which one of those did jump school use

in 1969? I think maybe a C-141 but we also jumped a couple of times from WWII era planes that were sent to South American countries shortly after that- they were in such bad shape that we were happy to jump instead of being on them when they landed

Quite possibly a C141 if it was jet propelled. A C130 or C123 possibly if propeller driven clover65. Thanks for your service!

it was called a Starlifter - 1st jump had the ranking guy go out 1st & he held onto the inside of the door & the jump master had to throw him out - he was a Major & a chaplain - thought to myself “ if the preacher won’t jump, what am I doing up here”

Can’t wait to hear it - army humor is down my alley - get me to tell you about the druggie they sent to my squad in the jungle to keep him from getting into trouble

fall. Well, he is actually a Colonel now...But Major D just sounds better....I need to tell you about being on the field with him at the BC game....Sorry...JD is with my son. Somehow I did not get a pic with him that night. He is a humble war hero and vet. Airborne. I would do anything in the world for him.

Most Thursdays @ Parris Island (when there is graduation on Friday) they have the Crucible, the wife and I sit across the river and watch the old school flares and listen to the M60's and mortars (I think it is) - occasionally they get a C-130 to join the fun, and our house is right under the racetrack, he's a few hundred feet off the ground, rattles the house every time. It's awesome.

the guy whose flying that bad boy lives about 5 minutes down the road. It's coming out of Donaldson Center, he then flys a pattern over his house, circles around my house and then heads back to Donaldson. He was very active yesterday as I seen him several times while I was out cutting grass
