Bottom Line: A 1 Loss Defending Champion Is In

1. SEC Champ
2. Big Ten Team
3. Clemson
4. ? (My guess is OU or OK State)

With the remaining schedule there will not be 4 undefeated teams and being defending Champions guarantees us a spot if we take care of business from here on.

I still think TCU gets it done. And frankly would much rather them get in than either of the teams from the state of Oklahoma.

What does us being the defending champion have anything to do with how the playoff committee votes? Our resume and all the other metrics they use (which if we win out we would have strong numbers) would get us in, depending what others teams do, not us being defending champs.

Ask Ohio St if that's true. They were a 1 loss defending champ (and only 1 undefeated team overall), and they were ranked 7th in the final poll. Defending champ is irrelevant. We'll have a better resume than they did of course, but still probably need some help.
