Haven't been there yet but I hear good things. It is where the original Staley's Steakhouse was back in the day - now that was an oldschool joint where I loved dining even if it seemed like a good spot for a mafia hit.
As far as Boeheim's best road meal being in Clemson, I am pretty sure he stayed in downtown Greenville so I am thinking something like American Grocery. If he really meant Clemson, it had to have been Blue Heron or Calhoun Corners (when they were paying attention). Or possibly the restaurant at Liberty Hall in Pendleton.

One of the first and closest friends I had at Clemson was a

fellow from New York, who upon our first meeting, asked, "Jeez, where the he1l did ju come from?"
Exaggerating my best drawl, I replied, "Ah brung all mah fixins on mah hoss from tha sticks." I then added, "You'uns musta been flushed down heah outa tha sewers from up nawth somewhar!"
He laughed and from then on we joked constantly about our origins...and remained close friends our four years at CU.
You see, he and I had our own versions of humor, based largely on our native environs. We understood that and had a good time with the give and take...and we never let it cause friction. Later, experiences in the Army and business served as further education about regionalisms.
Thus, comments such as those from the Cuse folks are humorous, not bothersome at all, and prompt my response, "Y'all hurry on down heah...and bring all y'alls money wid ja...and leave it heah!" lol

He made the Denny's crack AFTER his last visit to Clemson. Curious why he would say what he did if he had his best meal on the road at Clemson...
