I believe we're now 14-4 in 1-run games...

That is very impressive. Several years ago a stat like that would've been upside down. Instead of being 40-13 and in the running for a Nat'l Seed, we would've been 30-23 playing to get off the bubble. It's amazing what a difference the little things make in ball games that ultimately alter an entire season.

something like 1 and 17 in one-run games!

A stat which helped force a change.

One run games have doubled since Monte took over. Win percentage in those increased but seems like overall offense has decreased in runs earned.

Runs per game have gone down, but remember Monte took over just as the new bats and balls were being introduced into the college game. Runs per game are down across the board from the most successful Leggett years.

I know our batting average problems have been well chronicled this season, but no one actually talks about our runs per game (the stat that matters in the end.) Clemson is currently #62 in the nation in total runs scored (320 on the season) and ranks 6th in the ACC. However, the top team in the conference (NC State) only has 376 on the season so it isn't like we are completely off the pace. NC State is averaging just over 7 runs per game (13th best in the nation) while we average just over 6 runs per game. Compliment that with one of the best bullpens in the college game and you can see why we just won our 40th game this season and have done so well in close, low scoring games under Monte

Look at Tenn Tech stats. I wonder what bats they are using. 115hrs, team batting .350, 3 or 4 guys batting .400+, and only 2 people batting under .300. Their numbers are crazy

With those numbers I think they’re sneaking the aluminum
