Line moved from+3.5 to +4.0 and 68% of the $ placed on OK

Dec 30, 2015, 1:04 AM

Since they announced the suspensions. 63% of all money was on Clemson +3.5 this morning, and now it's dropped to 53% on Clemson +4.0. That's a BIG movement in cash. Betters are acting like its Deshaun that got suspended!

Not me. Clemson dominates the lines of scrimmage and causes one hurting buckaroo in Mayfield.

It honestly blows my mind. I just really don't understand why Oklahoma is the favorite in this game. I took the Orange glasses off and broke it down like this.

O-Line - Push
D-Line - Clemson
RB - Push
WR - Slight to Oklahoma
QB - Clemson (Mayfield hasn't faced near the caliber D Watson has)
LB - Clemson
Secondary - Clemson
Special Teams - Oklahoma

I'll give the nod to OU for RB and slight advantage to Clemson for OL.

It's tough to give OK the nod at RB though. Gillman has faced much tougher competition and has over 1300 yards. OK's stable looks good, but the best D they've faced all season is ranked 53rd nationally. Gallman faced 3 in the top 10. I really think that's what is gonna separate the two teams in this game. Clemson is battle tested and has played a much tougher schedule.

OU clearly has the advantage at RB. Perine and Mixon are the best duo in the country. Here's my opinion:

O-Line: Clemson
D-Line: Clemson
LB's: OU
Secondary: Clemson
QB: Push (we'll find out on Thursday)
WR: OU
Special teams: OU

Obviously an opinion, but I think Mayfield is in for a rude awakening. The times he'll have to scramble around he won't be finding wide open guys down the field. Sure, I expect the OU backfield will make some plays on occasion in the running game and out of the backfield, but I can't imagine sustained success. If Mayfield does end up buying time, he is going to take a beating from the front 7 in the process.

That's a reasonable opinion. He's scrambled into trouble often this season and Clemson is the best front seven we'll face all season.

Boomer, I think that is a good analogy, although I give advantage to us at QB and a big advantage to y'all on special teams. This should be a good game and a dog fight if both teams don't fumble the ball.

OU also hasn't faced near the caliber D-line Clemson has faced either. Remember when Perine had like 400 yards against whoever last season and then couldn't do squat against Clemson?

Re: Line moved from+3.5 to +4.0 and 68% of the $ placed on OK

Couldn't do squat except run for 134 yds and average 6 yds a carry without a passing game to keep the defense honest or a second RB to worry about.

Oh, and according to a chart one of your users posted, Oklahoma has faced better D-lines than Clemson. Big XII defenses are better at getting sacks than ACC defenses, too.

It's amazing how none of you give any respect to Perine, even though he holds the rushing record for a game. Just admit he's a good player.

Dude, Perine is good, but he got half of those yards after the score was 40-0. He got a huge chunk of those on the last drive of the game when we put in all the back-ups.

If I can do math on my phone, he got 72 yards rushing after the score was 40-0. He got 36 of those on the last drive of the game.

Most those yards came in the second half when the game was out of hand so check your stats bro. Rush yards don't matter when the score is 40-6

I'm sure last year you said OU would walk all over us. Sorry but you are in for a ride awakening tomorrow at 4. Brace yourself because it is going to get ugly and you are going to want to crawl back in your shell and hide. I'm sure Friday we will not hear from you on our board.

I think Clemson has success running the ball, but I still think OU's combo is better (not counting the QB run game for Clemson). If Feaster was in tow for this game then I'd have a different answer.

I agree that the CU O and D lines have played some supremely talented opposition throughout the year. I think the consistent dominance on the D line and a sustained success on the O line for CU leads to a Clemson win. When you run and stop the run, you typically win. See LSU vs T Tech.

CU O-Line vs OU D-Line - Push
OU O-Line vs CU D-Line - Clemson
OU RB vs CU LB - OU
CU RB vs OU LB - OU
OU WR vs CU Secondary - Slight to Oklahoma
CU WR vs OU Secondary - OU
OU QB vs Defense - OU
CU QB vs Defense - Push
Special Teams - Oklahoma

I think Mayfield is better than Watson, but that's irrelevant to how the game will play out. I think our defenses our pretty even, but again, irrelevant. It'll be fun to see it all play out.

Clemson fans haven't seen much of Matfield to give him enough credit. Oklahoma fans haven't seen enough of Watson to give him credit.

Re: Line variations

Dec 30, 2015, 2:53 AM

When I looked yesterday, there were about 10 or so services
varying from 1.5 to 4.0 pts...with 3.5 most common. And the dollars
were split by % between the two teams. I don't understand that stuff,
but I noticed a number of teams, the % was all for the same team, but
not our game.
That's why I've never participated, I don't understand it, nor the
terminology. The definitions sound like a circular reference. :)
