I believe the punishment is to encourage him to do something he must not now want to do, but down the road, it is something he will thank them for making him do. Like my son did me when I didn't let him quit Boy Scouts. When he got his Eagle badge, he thanked me for not letting him quit. Hopefully MB will learn from this, do his academic stuff, get a degree and be proud that somebody helped him see that it was the right thing to do.

2 years at Clemson plus his year at prep school has him 3 years removed from high school. It wouldn't be the best decision though, obviously

For not showing up to class. I got suspended from my college baseball team when I would sleep (pure laziness) in...Reasons were "Academic Reasons".

If he had academic issues, we would never hear about it. He just would use up his 3 years, move on to the NFL and then to a gas station or a pizza place and finish his life out regretting his decision to become a coot.
