Beamer gaining support at USC.

If you believe this article. Me? I have no idea. It could be true, or it could be a beautiful play by his agent to either get him this job, another job or a nice payraise at Oklahoma.
The timing is interesting. Thanksgiving weekend. Things will slow down for a couple of days. Caslen has COVID. Napier has COVID. If someone wants to promote himself for the job, this is a great time to do it.
Or, on the other hand, everything in the article could be true. There could be a grassroots of support for him. And, the administration may be thinking that they will go in the opposite direction of looking for a guy with a proven HC record but go for "the next Dabo Swinney."
https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/30389567/shane-beamer-interview-south-carolina-football-coach-vacancy-sources-sayS. Beamer gaining support for S. Carolina vacancy Backed by some big names, Oklahoma assistant head coach for offense Shane Beamer will interview for the South Carolina head coaching vacancy and is a strong candidate for the job, sources told ESPN.

They’ve somehow talked themselves into this because of Spurrier nostalgia/Spurrier era players vouching for him. Sad, but true. No HC experience, and no else is even considering him as a viable HC candidate, yet here they are... and they’ll point to Dabo, an anomaly, as justification. The man who worked his way up from within and then proved himself on an interim basis, beating them in the process.
It’d be a laughable hire for a program that can’t really afford to miss, both financially and from a production standpoint on the field. There are a bunch of young up-and-comers with proven track records as not only P5 OCs, but also success full P5/G5 HCs. So in other words, you gotta love it.

Beamer is eventually going to VaTech. USCar could end up with a 1 year coach if they hired him and then VaTech job opened. They will get Kiffin'd

Would be the classic Gamecock move to hire Beamer instead of Chadwell.
I’m starting to lose hope.

Beamer would be a good fit for usuc but no coach will bring them up enough to challenge for titles in the sec but will be good enough to have a better record that they have now. Get better cooties so we can going back to being a rival.
