The football team finished 7-6 and the basketball team began the season 16-0 under OP, which would you have thought would be more likely to happen in the next 10 years. Clemson winning multiple national championships in football OR Clemson actually winning the ACC in basketball?

Using your scenario, we have not won "multiple national championships" although we have competed for them."Winning" is the key word in your second sentence. Clemson has two but only one since 2008-2009.
Now, in regards to basketball, several of our teams have started off strong, but usually, fade down the stretch, and I was never a big believer in OP.
Now, if you had asked if we would have become such a powerhouse in football, I would lean toward football.
