Baseball Stars????

Jan 14, 2013, 8:57 PM

Do baseball recruits not have a star rating? Or are our recruits that sorry?

IMO, Jack goes for "amazings" too much & lose them to draft

Needs to look for those hungry, dirt-dobbers who want to prove everyone wrong. Absolutely, need to pursue those stars, but not to the point it crashes your whole recruiting class when you can't sign them.

Baseball recruits don't have "stars"...

and if the recruits are "sorry" then that's too bad because many of them are South Carolinians. Clate Schmidt was projected to be a first or second round draft pick in last June's draft, but told all the pro teams he would not sign and was drafted VERY late and is here. Glenn Batson, who will be here next fall, is the nephew of Bill and Michael Spiers, so he certainly has the background to be good. He played QB for Greenville HS until this past fall when he gave it up for baseball. He helped SC District 7 win the 2011 Big League World Series. Kevin Bradley, who is a freshman infielder/catcher in this year's team is the son of the Princeton head coach, so he's certainly had plenty of opportunities for development as a HS kid. He's also a switch-hitter. Andrew Cox originally committed to Ray Tanner as a freshman in HS, but changed his mind and is at Clemson, so he must be pretty good. After all, according to many on here, Ray Tanner is almost God-like.

The Kreigar kid from Ga. was highly thought of by draft experts, the Toney kid from T.L.Hanna was thought to be a high draft pick, the Duggar kid
is good enough to start as a freshman, the Crownover kid was State of Ga.Player of Year 2 years in a row---all these along with the others mentioned would be either 4 or 5 stars by football lingo-- this was a very good class

it's good to see a lot of South Carolinians in this class***

This 2012 class is a stud class. Especially in the pitching department.

Baseball doesnt have star rankings but are ranked through www.perfectgame.org

This is a National Ranking Organization that evaluates players at the top tournaments across the Nation and has their own showcases for HS players. Any HS player that plays on Top Div I school can be found on this web site
