I think it became clear Coach Lee needs several pitchers ASAP and a solid SS to stop the errors! We have done well, but our talent obviously needs immediate upgrade in certain areas to compete successfully against better teams.

Eli can look really sharp at SS sometimes and other times he doesn't look like a D1 fielder. He's very athletic and quick. I'm not sure what his problem is. He has almost twice as many errors (23) as anyone else on the team and 24% of all errors on the season.

he takes his eye off the ball and gets ahead of himself and as a result is terribly error prone. I feel for him but he is not a D! defensive SS.

I agree!

This has been a problem for several years. We keep giving away games with errors that create big innings.

I equate it to basketball. You are either a great shooter or not in high school. Rarely, do kids develop into a great shooter, ball handler, etc. after they got to college. Same with baseball defensively. Not saying White is not a good player; we just need an upgrade defensively overall.

AND that includes Beer. He is not good defensively at all. Probably will keep him from being a top round pick unless he gets better. He struggles to read the ball off the bat.

He doesn't need to play defense in MLB when u can smash a baseball like beer. He will be a top 10 pick
