'Bama needs to play more Alabama-like football

Nov 9, 2019, 5:33 PM

according to these idiot announcers. It looks to me like they are playing the same Alabama-like football as they played against Clemson in January.

Some people are hopelessly attached to what's "normal"

until LONG after it's proven not normal anymore.

Neuheisel is one of those people. He's got no imagination or anticipation. He just blurts out what people expect based on the past.

They actually do, though.

Alabama can throw it all over the lot, and they have really good receivers.

Somewhere along the line they forgot how to run the ball and play defense.

That is not exactly Nick Saban football...or what got them to the top.

It might be too late. Tua's gone after this year, and Alabama keeps bleeding coaches - they replaced seven last year, six the year before that, and five the year before that, including both coordinators all three years - even faster than they lose players to early NFL entry and the transfer portal, and the continuity and program identity is long gone.

Saban's having to start over with new coaches every season, and the new ones just do not have a handle on that very complicated pattern-match defense he runs, and the continuity that existed with their conservative power-run-game-based offense has steadily detoriorated since he bowed to the times and went with Lane Kiffen as his OC.

Bama just isn't Bama anymore. They've still got plenty of highly-ranked talent because they're Bama but they also very much looked like a program that had lost their sense of themselves when we shredded them last year in the Natty, and LSU is exposing that again as we speak.

Agree - the coaching carousel is catching up with Nick and he's not able to keep it together. It's only a matter of time until his day is done - and it's not very long.
