Wow.
Major loss.
This kid was almost on par with Trevor.
Their two HS teams met in a nationally televised event and put on an incredible show.

Losing a backup QB isnt a major loss even if he is talented. Their starter is only a freshman.

The issue going forward with so many backup QBs

Transferring is that the top programs will have a more difficult time maintaining a competent backup QB that can keep things afloat if the starter goes down. I think the Alabamas and Clemsons of the world will need to recruit the occasional 3 or low 4 star level QB that is more likely to stick around in the program and take on that backup role rather than transferring after a year or two when they dont win the starting role.

We are very fortunate right now to have Chase Brice.

Lol. This kid isn’t even close to being on par with Trevor. He was a great athlete in high school, but couldn’t even win the starting job over a freshman when he got to college.

Cartersville isn't a schlub program. If he was a great athlete against them in high school, he's a great athlete in college.

But the college game requires much more discipline and intellectual development. For a young man who has only relied on his athletic abilities, it is a major change, and it requires a great deal of maturity to be willing to make the change.

Looks like he's given up on Malzahn's staff being the ones to help him change. He's not the first.

Anyway, major loss for Malzahn if he ever had a plan for the kid; not sure that he did.

How bad does he have to be to get beaten out by a guy completing 35% of his passes at LSU?
