Athletes set to dominate the 2020s

Dec 9, 2019, 9:30 AM

We are about to start a new decade of sports action. The 2010s introduced us to new stars in many sports. Who are the players you expect to take over and dominate in a variety of sports over the next decade? Maybe some that have already arrived and some we don’t know at all yet.

Football: Patrick Mahomes, Trevor Lawrence, Deshaun Watson

Basketball: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic

Baseball: Ronald Acuña Jr (who else, I don’t follow baseball as closely

Hockey: Connor McDavid, Aleksandr Barkov

Soccer: Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Ansu Fati, Joao Felix

Men’s tennis: Stefanos Tsitsipss, Daniil Medvedev, Felix Auger-Aliassime

Women’s tennis: Bianca Andreescu, Naomi Osaka, Coco Gauff

Golf: ??

Add to any of these sports you want

Even the most stringent definition of a sport

should still include things like hockey, soccer, and tennis. Some people obviously don't care for those sports for various reasons and thus attempt to belittle them.

Quite obviously

Anything that requires a physical action to determine the outcome is a sport
