I mean they are actively supporting a President that takes the advice of hostile foreign adversaries over that of our American Intelligence Services. This is a man that seeks to destabilize our relationships with our allies, while offering kind words and support to our enemies. This is also a man that is tearing down our institutions and weakening our democracy. At what point does your open support for this man make you a traitor to America?

Misguided support for a horrible leader, even one who clearly is a danger to our democracy, is just that: misguided. We're opening a dangerous door if we look at labeling people as traitors for their political support.
Just as the Trump is an imbecile for labeling anyone opposed to him as "treasonous," such attempts to do the same to his side are just as off-base.

I may not agree with them.
And I may not understand why they would support him as they do.
But it is a step to far when you take those factors and begin to label them as evil, rather than wrong.
(Just as, I'm sure they'd call me wrong, and that's OK).
But it is not evil to simply be wrong.
And I won't ascribe to them motives that would make them an enemy.

No. Having said that, I understand the reasons people voted him in. What I don’t understand is the continuing support.
I would compare his supporters more to zealots at this point. There is an almost blind devotion to Trump that makes no logical sense. Sure, some will cite the economy while ignoring any improvements that existed before Trump. Some will cite the tax cuts while ignoring their own long held (and loudly expressed) beliefs that we have to cut the debt and deficit. Some are single issue voters who will vote for Satan himself as long as there is an R in front of his name. Some are just trolls.
Why, who knows? I don’t even think they do. Maybe it is some need to be right no matter what. Maybe it is a willingness to look past the problems because the short-term gains are worth it. For whatever reason, it just seems like the ends justify the means to many of his supporters.
