Seems a little low for Dwayne;...

Jul 27, 2012, 11:19 AM

especially considering the early reports that he looks better than Fleener.

The new CBA bases everything off the round you were picked in I think. It's really weird.

Players don't make nearly as much early on as they used to. If this were 2009, the agreement would probably look more like 4 years, 5 million.

Sucks for them, but just like we have to prove ourselves on our jobs before we get pay increases, they should have to do the same. Let's be honest thought. 3 milli over 4 years...he won't be starving...lol!

He is worth his wait in gold!

Hopefully we will be able to say the same about Brandon Ford!

His weight (255 lbs) in gold = $6.6 million, LOL***

If you don't invest that and live off just the interest, it goes quick.

Plenty of guys go buy $200,000 worth of cars, and $1 million dollars for houses for themselves and their families, and then spend a lot casually.

It will go quickly. It just kills me to see young men who could have been set for life be broke because they don't know how to manage money/they mess with loose women who want nothing more than to be impregnated by a rich man.

haha. Interest these days on $1mm will get you less than $10k/year - that's in a MM account.

I'm talking more about signing bonus.

If you make that kind of money and can't find a financial advisor than can get you 5% a year in stocks and bonds, you're not doing something right.

Say his signing bonus is one million. 5% is 50,000.

He can live on 50,000, plus part of his salary, while he adds the majority of the salary to the principal.

He's not ballin' and impressing the women doing that, but it's the sustainable solution.

Even if he's out of the league in 4 years and has accumulated 2 million...he can still live off that the rest of his life.

Terrell Owens was the highest paid WR in the league at one point and now he's broke.

I agree. They got a steal, but it's fair market value.....

for where he went in the draft. His next payday after 4 years if he stays healthy will be a great one for a TE.

Anyone know what Coby Fleener signe for if he has signed

Jul 27, 2012, 1:38 PM

yet? Find it intersting that Fleener was chosen first but DA was running first team reps in the minis.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

4 year, $5.3 million. $2.3 million signing bonus

Jul 27, 2012, 2:56 PM

Fleener was slotted to receive a four-year, $5.3 million contract with a signing bonus of approximately $2.3 million.

I am not surprised, at all. DA will be a better choice in the long run, IMO. He is a producer, and my guess is he will more valuable in the short term and in the long term.
