Also, when was the last one a winning streak of greater than 27 game was active?

UCF went undefeated in 2017 & 2018. FSU won 29 in a row from 2012-2014.

I read a recent article that said South Dakota State has the longest undefeated streak ever. They have won 39 games so far and no defeat. Do not hold me to this as I am relying on memory. At my age I might have misread but do not think so.
