Anyone got a definitive update on Skalski? He is the key

Nov 9, 2020, 8:36 AM

missing piece that we need back going forward. Buy up some hypobaric chambers, or whatever it takes to get him ready to be back on the field. Harumpph!

yeah, tackling has been pretty bad with he and Jones out. it would have been an entirely different game.

At this point could we rest him until Virginia tech?

Still don’t understand why tackling is so bad, I thought all of our players were rated pretty highly. Is it just lack of experience at the college level?

Don't have any answers on the "why", but it Shirley is

frustrating to see, time and time again, our guys have their hands on the ball carrier well short of the first down sticks, and they get away and make crucial first downs to continue opponents drives. Reminds me of the bad old Kevin Steele days.

I think Tyler Davis is the real missing piece, he's so disruptive and makes everyone else's job easier. Him and Skalski combined being out is a huge blow, Skalski is the QB of the defense as well. It'll be an entirely dif team again him those and Miike Jones back, Davis and Jones should be back after the bye, Skalski may need another week or 2 since he had groin surgery.

I agree. While we clearly are missing Skalski's leadership and tackling ability, Tyler Davis up the middle has also been a really big loss. When he was on the field against Miami, they couldn't move the middle of our line. I think getting him back could make a huge difference on keeping our LBs clean and helping them be run and hit LBs.

Bump. Still haven't heard a reply that even knows WHEN

Skalski had surgery, or what the projected recovery time was, or how he is actually progressing. Dabospeak has proven notoriously inaccurate over the years from an injury recovery perspective. :(
