Anybody see the textbook targeting by Wonnum on

Tennessee's Guarantano (I think) on the side line. The video of that should be in the rule book as the classic targeting definition ..... helmet to helmet with Wonnum delivering the blow with the crown. No penalty was called or even reviewed. Anyone got any video or still photos?

You’re exactly right. I called it watching the game last night. Targeting calls are so subjective. That was textbook as far as the rule states but no call.

and they know $CU needs all the help they can get.

The TD by Edwards if reviewed would have been called back too. He never controlled the ball until he was out of the end zone but the officials never reviewed it.

I thought so too! The targeting call is not so much whether it had an effect on the game, but rather than the inconsistent way in which it is called. I certainly would not have argued that one of our players would have been flagged if they had made the same hit.
