Any members of the 1959 Sugar Bowl Team on the board??

Jul 14, 2019, 1:01 PM

I have been collecting player issued items for the last decade. Not much information out there on what was given out to players and coaches prior to 1977....

Anyone from the 1958-9 team that played in the Sugar Bowl that would be willing to share some info??

Maybe a family member of a player??

Send me a message if willing!! You can email me at bvmay@yahoo.com if you prefer....

Thanks!!

There must be multiple folks that are living, Being on the TigerNet Board is the ?
Moose Keller, Johnny Mac Goff, Harold Olson; Harvey White were all living in the summer of '18 and hopefully are now. No doubt there must be others.

Harold Olson lives here at Clemson Downs. Gary Barnes lives in Clemson.

Wow ..... a Moose Keller mention. Morris "Moose" Keller was my counselor at Camp Greenville in the late 50's. I once witnessed King Dixon toss Moose into "Old Glory" (Camp Greenville lake) in spite of the fact that Moose outweighed him by 50 lbs. Marine Major King Dixon was later one of my instructors at Quantico when I was in Basic School. Small world!

I know that there is a watch that players received, but would love to know what else is out there.

This photo is a picture from one of the LSU sites but it is the same watch the Clemson Players received.

My husband has one of the Sugar Blues jerseys. Unfortunately, he wore it to do yard work for about 30 years so the Northwestern blue (purple) has faded on to the white satin shoulder stripes, not so pretty anymore. I think the numbers were white satin too.

Gary Barnes is my father-in-law, I can ask him if he remembers what they got.
