Another Honor for Clemson University

Feb 13, 2019, 1:29 PM

My homepage always has interesting topics. One of today's topics was, "The Hardest Schools to Get Into by States". And, for South Carolina, as expected, was dear old Clemson. Of course, Tiger fans already knew that. As Dizzy Dean used to say, "If it's the truth, you ain't bragging".

Dizzy also said - "...and he slud into third base". Many English teachers were not to happy with that one. MY favorite Diz story was when a line drive hit him in the head and knocked him out. Next the paper headline was "X-rays of Dean's head reveal nothing"

Old Dizzy Dean was a refreshing voice in the baseball world and one heck of a pitcher.

He played when they were ballplayers, not athletes. In an interview, John Kruk claimed he was a ballplayer and was never an athlete.
