And this is why we absolutely need the playoff system.

Jan 7, 2013, 9:38 PM

ND's one game win of a season (Stanford, very easily should have went into another OT) is showing in the NC. Think we all agree Oregon should be here, but they got shut out in OT #3 by three against Stanford.

How does Bama go in front this year when last year they were in the same situation as Oregon and made it? Politics, that's how.

Another note: I believe that the SEC will have to man-up with a strong OOC Schedule in the playoff format. No more SEC exclusive scheduling aloud to cater.

I think Oregon and Tex AM are the 2 best teams right now.

Florida should've played ND based on body of work.

how far off the mark the computers and and voters are. And 4 teams is hardly better than the current system.

I guarantee you that the SEC teams will not beef up their o-o-c schedule. With all the underserved hype that conference gets, their conference schedule is enough to get them in. The good news is that conference championships won't be required to get in the playoffs. The bad news is that at least 2, maybe 3 SEC teams will get into the 4-team playoff every year.

That is what I've said several times on here and fear,

Ridge. I think it is almost a guarantee two SEC teams get in, and some years 3. It will still be the same crap with what one or two teams are worthy enough to join the SEC in the playoff. Until at least 8 teams are part of this, it will be a joke, and then I have to wonder with the way this year's top 10 was the last couple of weeks, are we looking at 6 SEC teams in that playoff format, lol?

They get forced to...NCAA makes the rules...not ESPiN

That means the NCAA has more voices than this media championship.

case of a team like aTm. They were not preseason crowned, beat Bama on the field but were young early.

I embrace whatever happens moving forward from tonight's crock.

If you look at every bowl teams regular season schedules... they played the SEC 24 times in OOC games. Compared to 20 for the ACC, 23 for the B10, 11 for the BXII and 21 for the PAC (though the BXII and PAC only play 3 OOC games with nine game conference schedules). And that's when you take in Notre Dame who played the B10 three times, the ACC three times and the PAC twice and the BXII once and only faced an SEC last night.

I think our OOC schedule is just as strong as everyone else in addition to playing an SEC schedule. Look at Oregon and KState, the next two out of the championship game... they played Miami (Meh), North Texas (4-8), Missouri State (3-8), Ark State (10-3 Bowl team), Fresno St (9-3 Bowl team) and Tennessee Tech (3-8 FCS team). What makes that more worthy than Alabama an FCS team, two Sun Belt teams (WKU (Bowl team) and FIU (Bad)) and an FCS team?

Also, this argument is silly coming from a team that is going to be playing two FCS teams next year.
