Ford compiled a 96–29–4 (.760) record at Clemson;;;

Nov 26, 2012, 2:05 PM

Ford compiled a 96–29–4 (.760) record at Clemson, including a 6–2 bowl record. He is second on the school's wins list, behind only Frank Howard. He was the third winningest coach in the country on a percentage basis after the 1989 season. Ford also coached 21 All-Americans and 41 players who went on to play in the NFL, during his 11 seasons at Clemson.

And he hasn't been the coach in 20 years. Some of you need

to move on.

Danny was great. Probably the greatest we've had but he ain't here and he ain't coming back.

how do we know that?

Nov 26, 2012, 2:10 PM

he ain't been asked.

He offered to donate his salary to academics for 3 years

And I believe he is a year younger than Ball Sac

I like our staff. but there is no doubt they have some growing up to do.
And Fast!! It’s not HS anymore

Dabo is the boss and he needs to assert his power in controlling Morris play calling. We had a lead and Morris is scared to run the Dang ball.
Instead he kept feeding Boyd to the D-line

Re: As much as I am dissatisfied with Swinney, I would not

consider Ford. Good for his time but over the hill and just would not fit.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

& Ford had some very good and underrated assistants

Nov 26, 2012, 2:36 PM [ in reply to And he hasn't been the coach in 20 years. Some of you need ]

that I bet most Tiger fans cannot even name. He also had a roster full of beastly linemen and depth. I enjoyed Ford as a kid, but lets' be honest, he didn't do it all on his own either.

It seems those that yell "Bring Back Danny Ford!!!" forget that it takes him wanting to come back. Hell, if we can just make demands that a coach come to Clemson I say "Go sign Nick Saban!!!"

Idiots.....

I think Tigernet would self destruct if Coach Danny Ford came back and didn't win 14 games every year. Who would we hire then?!?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yup, and the teams he beat had a worse winning percentage

Nov 26, 2012, 2:26 PM

than the teams Dabo has beaten.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Check his bowl record & who they beat

Nov 26, 2012, 2:30 PM

Check how many highly ranked teams the 81 team beat
UGA, UNC & Neb all top 10 teams
Probably a couple others in top 25

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

you really have no clue do you

Nov 26, 2012, 2:38 PM [ in reply to Yup, and the teams he beat had a worse winning percentage ]

He beat Penn St, Okl, UGa, WVU(top 10 team) and thats just the late 80;s

and?

Nov 26, 2012, 2:39 PM

great time at Clemson. loved that time. but beyond obvious, what is the point?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Point is

Nov 26, 2012, 2:46 PM

Play BIG BOY football

Control the game with an O-line & running attack and play intimidating, gang tackling DEFENSE

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They played smash-mouth football then--it wins championships

Nov 26, 2012, 3:08 PM

And when they did lose, the first thing the coach always said was, "I should have had them better prepared."
