sounding like a bunch of homers....
UCF beat the brakes off of Pitt, who beat Syracuse, GT, and Duke and only lost to Notre Dame by 5 points. They also beat an almighty SEC West team in their bowl game last year....

Hey now don’t disgrace the American conference lol. SCar would finish at best 5th in that league.
Also... just for Jhop’s dumb answer... what would be the score if Clemson and/or Bama played UCF? I’ll go on record and say 38+ loss but we will never know bc UCF won’t play a meaniful bowl. Just to be clear for you... meaniful means playoffs not Steveport.

The actual power 5 would never approve the AAC to become the 6th bc all those teams would then take better recruits for the major conferences.
UCF’s only chance is that they get into a Power 5 conference. I know the SEC wouldn’t take them or the ACC bc the other Florida schools would not want them in bc of recruiting. Only option would be the Big12, bc they don’t have a FL team and would like the recruiting trips there, plus the TV market.

They need to schedule better OOC games. They may not be able to schedule the big dogs bc nothing to gain from that game... but they could schedule some neutral field stuff with tier 2 teams and have a chance at marquee wins. They need to play games against WVU, SCar, Florida, Tenn... teams like that who need exposure a game with UCF could bring them.

before tonight, a mediocre 5 - 3 Temple team has hung 34 points on their swiss cheese defense, and there's still and entire quarter to play.
I'd say that's a fairly compelling argument that they don't belong.

So JHOp you seemingly know football through transitive property.
Explain to me what matchup UCF could exploit against Clemson? Where do you they hold any advantage or is the only advantage they have against us we only barely beat Syracuse with a former 4th string QB with no game experience? And that team beat another team who watched game film on another team who shares a same mascot as another team so they must be great. Just face it... UCF this year is average at best and playing a weaker schedule than any P5 team.

The transitive property is used all the time when discussing these teams even by the committee. In every other college sport teams from mid major conferences are able to compete and a lot of them compete well for national titles. No reason they shouldn't be able to in football.
