Amazing how far we’ve come

I’m watching Clemson/BC 2008 on ACCN. I remember that season like it was yesterday... from sitting in the GA Dome and the debacle against Bama to sitting in Jacksonville losing to Nebraska/Suh. Leaving the GA Dome on MARTA I’ll never forget the old Bama fan who sees me in my Orange and says “y’all got a Shula on your hands, great name; can’t coach worth a ####. Dabo should be the coach”.

I remember laughing and thinking “Dabo... the WR coach... this dude is off his rocker”. Fast forward 6 games, Dabo is the interim and the rest is history. At the time 2008, from starting #9 in the country, to firing the coach mid-season, to finishing 7-6 all seemed like another step back for Clemson football. Looking back now that 2008 season ended up being the turning point for Clemson football. Amazing how far we’ve come and it’s all thanks to that WR coach.

It is indeed amazing what Dabo has built since 2008.

I'm enjoying watching Spiller again as a Tiger.

"...Dabo should be the coach" - so, do you think that our AD at the time possibly overheard that comment? That guy probably regrets saying that to anyone wearing ORANGE that day. He was possibly only 1 of 2 people on the planet that could see that.
