Our crappy B-ball team made Coot Nation happy

Dec 20, 2014, 3:35 AM

That really sucks because now they are talking, if they win in baseball it will take all the football hurt away. I just hate them having anything to be happy about.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Same people saying that

Dec 20, 2014, 3:37 AM

Are the ones saying none of it mattered last year. These schools are about football. Wins in other sports may help now, but only for a short time.

Dec 20, 2014, 6:46 AM

At this point, any coot bball win does nothing for them after the football game. This is the diff between fanbases. Even after we clocked in bball last year, WE as a fanbase didn't care that much, we still had the football loss hanging over our heads. They still hurt from it, just trying to get I'm their digs where they can cause that's what they do.

Dec 20, 2014, 8:10 AM

Yeah, the NCAA basketball tournament/championship and College World Series are very minor sporting events with hardly no following at all. Who would watch or have any interest in basketball or baseball on the collegiate level anyway? Hey, we have one football win against our arch rival in the past 6 years. That is what is important and makes us superior. To hell with the coots; none of their success counts unless we say so!

The college baseball World Series is extremely minor. What percentage of the US population could name last year's winner (6 months ago)? I'll go with 8%.

The nice thing about the Basketball Tournament is you can lose and still get in the tournament.

Truthfully, the percentage is probably about the same as who could name the NCAA basketball or football championship 2 years ago. A great rivalry, regardless of sport means a lot to rival fans; not much to anyone else.
