"All in" has gotten old

Mar 11, 2013, 4:45 PM

This is not a post bashing Dabo in any way other than the slogan "All In" has outlived its use full life.

"All In"

Mar 11, 2013, 4:49 PM [ in reply to Re: agreed*** ]

never was my favorite slogan in the first place and after Auburn and others started using it, felt like we should have come up with something else at least 2 years ago.

An old phrase hobbling along like an old man is that "Wait till next year" slogan the Coots used so often for years and decades.

I guess we're using the "Wait till next year" thingy now, huh?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I beg to differ.

Mar 11, 2013, 5:30 PM

It's an every year, every day, every minute thing for the players.

Being all in, all the time helps the kids resist the temptations to drink, smoke that stuff or do other things that can ruin their lives, much less, harm Clemson's good name and our football program.

ALL IN is not just a slogan, it's a way of life that leads to success in every venture. The connotation of ALL IN is commitment.

Other than that, I'd agree.

grammar police, suck it

kumbaya, kumbaya......I think Dabo has figured out that the team with the best slogans and pep talks don't always win the game. It's more about preparation and execution.

I prefer the slogan 1 Clemson, Win!

It speaks more to being united in order to accomplish a goal (IMO) It also talks about winning. (which is obviously our/their goal) This idea could be applied to not only the football team, but academics/athletics, the administration and alumni/fans, etc.

They could also start marketing the stripe (more than the paw) which could further help to promote the 1 Clemson idea. (very easily) as well as Clemson's proud military heritage and unique tradition of running down the hill.

All In sounds a bit childish (and ambiguous) to me. It also is derived from a gambling term, so I'm not sure how that promotes the supposed christian principles some are saying that it does...

just my opinion...

It hasn't quite jumped the shark yet but a loss in the opener might do it...What has gotten painfully old is "Tweet That!"
