Can you catch and run good, crisp routes?

recruiting against Jeff Scott who I assume is offering a scholarship at USF versus the opportunity to maybe earn one at Clemson. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out.

It is really hard to understand these kids that played QB at the HS level that aren't getting a pile of offers even from schools like the coots, and they stay determined to play QB at the college level, and at big time programs. IMO, they should really start thinking about a position that they may have a chance at seeing the field from other than the sidelines!!!!

Happens frequently; a guess: QB's have an inflated sense self-awareness & are most likely surrounded by "Yes"men.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Most QB's today focus on being QBs

Jan 21, 2020, 10:31 PM

they don't spend much time if any at any other position, especially those who are not considered dual threat. A QB that is not dual threat probably isn't going to be athletic enough to get on the field at a school like Clemson because the other positions are going to recruit players that are focusing on those positions and are going to be more advanced at the position than a QB making the switch.

Besides, if being on the team at Clemson is more important than a scholarship and playing time at a smaller or lesser school, then, that is the best decision for this recruit... besides, it's really about the education first and foremost, right??

looks like someone picked up spare pars and made it

My advice to him would be

Jan 21, 2020, 11:21 AM

go where he can get a scholarship

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agree. He should go to Charleston Southern.

Jan 21, 2020, 11:26 AM

Getting a full ride versus getting student loans is a no-brainer.

I’m guessing he is very smart and likely has a full ride academically? Complete speculation but I’d bet that is the case here.

Maybe his family can cover the costs and student loans are not an issue. He should go where he can experience life, get an education and minimize the debt that could be created.

I went to Charleston Southern. We could use a good QB! :)

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

May be jumping to conclusions that he “needs” a scholly.

Jan 21, 2020, 11:52 AM [ in reply to My advice to him would be ]

I know absolutely nothing about him, so this is total speculation, but ...

Maybe his family has money and maybe he really likes the idea of coming to a Clemson for the experience and to just contribute and to be part of championships.

I thought of Chase Brice when I saw his picture! Looks like him in some pictures...but yea, scholarship would be a good thing.

Does anyone know or has it ever been mentioned that one of our incoming baseball signees is a 4 time state champion QB from Dutch Fork? Ty Olenchuk...kid is a winner.

So the question is, since several players have declared for the NFL, are there more scholarships available? Clearly, another QB is needed because injuries happen.

Stockpiling talent is fine for the highly ranked teams,(Clemson) but the air at the top of the mountain is rarefied..and the bench is full of splinters...

Lived in the Columbia/West Columbia area for years.(Don’t hold it against me) His family are huuuuge coot fans. Wondering why no looks from UofSuC? Interesting to see how this pans out.
