The reason this crappy 0-5 record started was

Nov 23, 2014, 10:39 PM

TB did not put Reggie Merriweather in on the 4th quarter drive against the Lamecocks and we lost.

Re: The reason this crappy 0-5 record started was

I remember that vividly. Reggie had the hot hand on that drive. He was mauling them.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

**Not necessarily the drive, the game. He was the hot back.***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

And that was before the "streak"***

Nov 23, 2014, 10:44 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

nope. Streak started in 09, Merriweather was long gone.***

Uh....TB hasn't been our coach since mid-season 2008, and we won that year against the coots. In the last six games, the 1-5 record is all on Dabo.

Correct. Bowden owned the coots.

He sure did.
That is one thing I can give him credit for.

Don't understand how Dabo & current coaches can't get it done.

No the reason Clemson beat the ##### was because they had Lou Holtz.... I miss him at SCAR.... They sucked with him then.

This is same reason coots don't want dabo to leave

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Is this a bait? Because I really wanted to bite.***

Dabo was HC last time Clemson beat the coots.

Yeah, not sure how you equate that with 0-5.

2006

Nov 23, 2014, 10:50 PM

Was 2006. The game of the 4th down tackle behind the line of scrimmage that somehow converted?
Clemson won in 07 and 08.
Streak started because Jamie Harper fumbled when we were about to go up 14-0 in Billy B and cut out the Coots heart.
And Spiller was sick as a dog that day.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

oh yes you are correct...thank you***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: 2006

Nov 13, 2021, 1:24 PM [ in reply to 2006 ]

Yeah the streak started because of Spiller being sick and virtually not playing after returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The Turning Point!

Nov 23, 2014, 10:24 AM

Spiller being sick was the reason Harper was in the game. I was there. The Coots were completely in full white flag mode. In the lot before the game all the Coots were saying when they lose today they were done. We're becoming Georgia fans or something is all they were saying. When 28 ran back the opening kickoff the Coots were on suicide watch. We stuffed the Coot O and were marching deep in Coot territory for an easy 14-0 lead. No doubt they would have not only folded in that game, but Spurrier was gone and they would have been a complete dumpster fire for who knows how long?! How a random stomach virus breathed life into the Coot corpse is beyond belief, but I have zero doubt the fumble turned it all around.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

spiller wasnt sick doing the Heisman pose

Nov 23, 2014, 11:13 PM

After the opening kickoff. But, after getting his ### busted a few times, olé turf toe had enough!

Your "glory days" are over Coot. Get ready for a trip back to the future for a very long time.

"Glory days" gone by and zilch to show for it. No conference titles, no BCS Bowls, and all with the SEC Least in the toilet the entire time. LOL!

class in the summer of 1989....I had received D's the entire summer then the final exam was so tough for me I wrote 4 paragraphs how I was moving to California and was never going to use math ever again. My father called a few weeks later telling me he received my grades at home and the teacher gave me a B for the class!!! OMG! I could not believe it.

When Bowden left we lost a lot of recruits, many to scar that ended up in the nfl. Could've really helped us on defense. Dandy dozen recruiting class hurt, plus tuck and run Connor Shaw converting every 3rd down. Timing is everything.

The past two years we should have won regardless. Play calling has been bizarre especially when running the ball. Successfully.

We can make up ground this Saturday though.
