Trump's pick of DeVos was sheer stupidity/screw you to one side of the spectrum; Warren's seems to be another outrageous move to swing the other way.
You can choose an Ed Sec. who is actually qualified and who treats all students with equality without having to have a child approve him/her/xe/whatever.

and if she were to actually be elected, I doubt it would ever become an actual policy. Though, I could see her have the person talk to her nominee, but 1.)I doubt the person would object and 2.)even if they objected, if Warren really liked her choice I doubt it would change her decision.

The other dems? Trump? It's clearly an attempt to pander, which is pretty normal. If she actually gave hiring power to an unqualified person or only qualified because of how they gender identify then I will have a bigger issue with this. But for now, my level of outrage only goes to "this is pandering, boo" levels.
Are you upset because you don't think she'll do what she claims or because she will?

Sorry, man, but no. She bought the position and supports the voucher movement in the worst way: To create publicly funded whites-only Christian schools. She's his most evil hire. Her proposals are blatantly malicious. She has 0.0 education experience or knowledge.
So let's get back to hiring qualified people with the relevant experience, and let's not let transgender children--or any children--pick them.

By all means, tell me what I posted that was wrong. She has zero public school experience, her policies wrecked schools in Detroit, and she has made anti-public education statements.
She also bought the job. That's proven. I can give you a list of senators she gave money to so she would get confirmed.

You indicated bad faith with your comment about her wanting schools to be all white and Christian.
Her experience is as a philanthropist involved in school reform, and in a more hands-on way as an advocate for school choice. Here's a link to a study relied on in a NYT piece that claimed DeVos's involvement in Detroit schools was a negative: "Based on the findings presented here, the typical student in Michigan charter schools gains more learning in a year than his TPS counterparts, amounting to about two months of additional gains in reading and math. These positive patterns are even more pronounced in Detroit, where historically student academic performance has been poor. These outcomes are consistent with the result that charter schools have significantly better results than TPS for minority students who are in poverty."
As far as "buying" her job because she gave money to certain Senators, it's a chicken or the egg thing. She gave money to lots of politicians because she wanted to promote her ideas. And she was being discussed as a possible choice for Sec Ed by people who have nothing to do with those senators.
I think your partisanship is making you blinkered about DeVos. Based on your previous post, it's borderline deranged. Do yourself a favor and don't just read things about her from partisans and people motivated by the the teachers unions.
