I guess someone in my buddy's office sent this in response to an email sent by a coot. (I took out their names)
Xxxxx, we can’t win arguments with Xxxxx Xxxxx right now… don’t you know that with their 5 wins over this one opponent (Clemson) that SC is the best team that has ever come from the state? And don’t you understand that with these wins, comes absolute future dominance? Don’t you get it? These past 5 games actually revoke and abolish 100 years of ownership and history? Haven’t you been taught that 5 years actually DOES define your entire program? That 5 games is the ONLY piece of the equation that matters? Why can’t you understand that not winning your conference, not playing in BCS bowls and not doing so while employing one of the best coaches in college football is what every program strives to achieve? Every program in the Country wants that type of “success.” And why can’t you see that we should fire Dabo? You KNOW he’s just a buffoon. He doesn’t deserve to keep his job for winning championships and being ranked in the top 10 longer than any other team currently outside the top 5. That means NOTHING if we can’t beat our rival. Come on Rob? Where’d you graduate from? Carolina?
But seriously, if that’s SC’s high bar, great. It is not ours. Here are some things that matter:
-- Conference Championships
-- BCS Bowl Appearances
-- National Championship
-- This year, one of the two teams SC lost to aren’t
ranked in the final polls. Our two losses are to #7 and
#1. OH, and we beat one of those teams that beat SC
when that team was at their healthiest.
-- Despite losing to them, we’re still in a BCS bowl
against a better opponent.
-- Not a single game they played is listed on the top ten
games of the year.. We have two.
-- Their whole program is Spurrier. Nothing but Spurrier.
It was toilet water before him and will be toilet water
again when he leaves.
-- Their flash in the pan “success” does not, cannot, will
not ever equal our history of success and the level of
success we are currently experiencing. We’re growing.
They have plateaued.
-- Clemson is the ONLY 2 loss team who one of their losses
is against the #1 team in the country.
-- Clemson is the only 2 loss team whose two losses came
against two top 10 teams.
-- SC is the only 2 loss team whose two losses came from
currently crap teams. Guess you could say they
pulled a “Clemson” but at this pace, the phrase may get
changed to “pulling a ####”
-- Try as they may, no one can erase 100 years of
dominance over your rival or over multiple nationally
ranked teams, with 5 years of success over ONE
opponent.?
-- Mizzou accomplished in 2 years what SC struggled for
decades to do in the conference. (has nothing to do
with Clemson, but thought it was worth mentioning.)
