9:45PM flight from SJC night of the game

I’m trying to go last minute to the game but I’d like to avoid staying overnight - I can get a red eye flight (on AA miles) back to ATL the night of the game at 10:25PM from SFO or 9:34PM from SJC. I won’t have any luggage so I should breeze through security on the way back and I’m not above running through the airport but I’ve never been to either airport. Does anyone think either option is realistic or a recipe for disaster?

You would be wasting your time. Either pay for the next day or just stay home. You’d be lucky to see a quarter of the game.

Agree. Way too close for comfort. And you would only be able to stay for part of the game. Why bother? Do the 50 yard line thing at home. Enjoy.

Here now & SJC is only about 6-7 miles away from stadium. The trip today took maybe 15-20 min in the middle of the day. SJC is a small/medium size airport & would be your best possibility for sure but still definitely a risk depending on traffic.

Spend the night at the airport and take the first flight out at sunrise. Pack deodorant and a razor and some spare jockies or boxers.

Wander around for a little while and catch a flight the next day. Technically there’s no such thing as overnight if you fly towards Japan to get home!

Keep in mind many TSA agents are part of gov shutdown so, though required to still show without paychecks, it's going to be shorter staffed and security is likely to take longer than normal for the foreseeable future.

Yeah I just read an article now and it makes me nervous about flying on a same day trip either way (Atlanta on a Monday morning can be hellish with all the business travelers).
