DRad needs to sit down with Dabo while he's at it

and make sure he understands losing to Scar is not acceptable anymore. They've had their best run ever the past couple years so he gets a pass but it's time to get back to owning this rivalry.
9-3, even 10-2 with a loss to the coots and Dabo shouldn't be far behind Jack heading out the door.

shouldnt get a pass at all. His job is to beat them period.
w the new extension Dabo isnt going anywhere. I'd give him John Coopers phone number and let him talk to him about how well continually losing to your rival plays.

9-3 would most likely include wins over the following teams:
SC State North Carolina NC State Louisville BC Syracuse Wake GT Georgia State
All mediocre programs. With the recruiting classes we've been pulling in the past 3 or 4 years it's time to start at least beating the coots.

What exactly have YOU done to get these recruits?
Who, exactly, is attracting these recruits?

CLEMSON is attracting these recruits. Dabo is selling CLEMSON, unlike at Scar where Spurrier sells himself because the program has nothing to offer.

recruit this well at Clemson since DF days. And if you take academics into account, probably never.
You people are nuts if you think Dabo doesn't understand this rivalry. You're nuts if you think it's some secret. It's the instate rivalry. That jackwagon that coaches South Carolina doesn't make public jokes about you guys. He makes jokes about Dabo. You are delusional if you think Dabo doesn't want to win that in the worst way. That's probably a bigger problem than anything. He might be TOO wrapped up in it.

UNC sells itself, UK sells itself, blah blah blah. I've heard that crap before yet somehow there are always guys who don't manage to recruit at these schools (guthridge, tubby smith, all CU football coaches b/t ford and bowden).

DRad Just Don't Understand.
Jun 3, 2014, 5:31 PM

DRad did not grow up in this rivalry. Neither did the new Clemson President. They don't understand how severe that game is. When at Ga. Tech, DRad HARDLY EVER seen the Jackets beat Georgia. Clemens has been entertaining the backyard brawls with West Virginia and Pitt. They don't have the slightest idea the magnitude of our game against Chickenlina. Dabo is neck deep in it now and yeah as folks will say...> Its getting late. Time to do something different. Lets shake things up. I've taken all I can stand and I can't stand no more. We've been beat on until there is nothing left of us to beat on. Can only go up from here.<

I don't think Dabo truly understands the rivalry either. Some friends and family heard him spreak about a month ago. Someone stood up and said they were tired of hearing it from coot fans, Dabo's response was basically how do you think I feel?
I can promise you Dabo it doesnt hurt as bad as it hurts die hard, life long Clemson fans. If you didn't grow up in this state you don't know how much this game means.

You are right. Dabo does not understand this rivalry at all. He played at Alabama, where there is absolutely no instate rivalry. In fact, Alabama loves their neighbors in Auburn!
Fire Dabo, because he clearly doesn't even care about winning the rivalry.

has a lot more links than you think. In fact, I believe he has more invested in Clemson athletics than 95% of the people on this board.

i share the misery of the current coot domination, but if you don't understand that this program is very solid and improving (thanks to dabo and his staff), your 52% pulse is too high.

We were more talented in 2009 and last year. I'll give him a pass for 2010-2012 but the other two are squarely on his shoulders. We overlooked them and got slap out coached in 2009. I remember watching the Virginia game the week before when they had success with the wildcat against us. I just knew Spurrier would come out and use it the next week and he did and he killed us with it.
Last year's 6 TO's speak for itself. Anybody with even the slightest knowledge of football knows we were a more talented team. Dabo or Morris or whoever made a terrible call on the opening drive when we were shoving it down their throat. We score there and stop them on the next drive the life is sucked out of that craphole stadium and we win the game.

And it wasn't a terrible call, moron. It was a perfect time to call it, and everything was executed flawlessly but the throw, which was awful.

You don't call that play when you are busting off 10-12 yards a play.
Tell the safety that looked like he knew it was coming and picked it off it was the perfect time to call it.

beating the coots. Dabo is building a great foundation here that could lead to not only coot domination, but playoffs berths and, who knows, maybe even a title one day.
But no, lets just be short-sighted and fire him now while the program is trending up and about to sign it's best recruiting class in decades.

Sorry but I don't trust Dabo

I don't trust that he can lead us in to a big game with the mentality we need to win.
Sure we've had some big bowl wins, but our two biggest games of the season last year we got embarrassed. FSU was great last year, not sure we would have won even playing our best game but getting humiliated on national tv in your own stadium is pathetic. Hell we played even worse against Scar IMO. If they were as good as they think they would have beat us by 40 as well.

Hey Skeet#3, Putting countdown clocks to the Gamecock game everywhere means Dabo gets it. DRad had to sign off it also.

One more loss and he should still be our head coach in name only but actually serve as an expensive blocking dummy until his contract runs out or he quits first.
