81,500 Capacity?

Media guide and most publications say 81,500 but we always see references to 83,000, 84,000+ any reason?

Because of a large general admission areas (the hill) we can sell more tickets in those areas than the listed capacity. Although the fire Marshall has discouraged that practice in recent years.

actually seat is <80k. the hill/general admission is usually 10k. fire marshall has probably set the 81,500.

when I was a freshman, we played florida state at home and they gave some students tickets that said "upper aisle" and they were sent to sit or stand in the upper deck aisles. The fire marshall was very upset about this and I don't think we have done it since but the place was jammed.
