If we could get all of our targets, this class would be truly historic!
5* QB DJ Uiagalelei 5* CB Elias Ricks 5* DE Bryan Bresee 5* TE Arik Gilbert 5* DE Myles Murphy 5* DE Jordan Burch 5* RB Demarkus Bowman 5* CB Fred Davis

Elias Ricks and Gilbert we are behind on right now. Never knew we were in it for Myles Murphy, as he has 100% CB to Ugag.

That was really good to read, and with those folks talking about how good a fit he would be at Clemson is a plus in our favor, IMO!!!

That's the first article I have read re the possibility of Murphy favoring Clemson. Bates is doing an outstanding job on the recruiting trail. Some have questioned Caldwell's recruiting success in the past but he deserves a lot of credit for his current success. Dabo has built a staff that has not only led us to the top of the mountain re our on field performance but on the recruiting trail as well.
Dabo has rewarded his staff with excellent financial packages. That, plus the fact we are currently at the top of the mountain is an important factor in retaining the staff. Some staff members may eventually leave if offered a high level opportunity but I don't foresee anyone leaving re a lateral move. Retention of staff is of upmost importance for two main reasons. It maintains the continuity of the current program and assures the current players and future players the coaches will still be there.
Yes, we are at the top of the mountain but I believe Dabo is looking around to see if there is a higher mountain in view. If he can spot a higher mountain you can bet your sweet patootie he will aim for it.

The only higher mountain is in the NFL, so I hope Dabo is not looking for a higher mountain.

I would think Dabo thinks this is the highest mountain:

Creating men with purpose out of high schoolers with potential Molding their lives for the rest of their lives, in a positive direction Having fun in the winning Country living in a mansion his success built with his family Being the king of this little corner of the world (though I think he is pretty ego-less, I'm sure he enjoys being in a place where he is wanted)
Can't see him managing or having a desire to manage the egos of NFLers Having corporate pressure and a hundred more executives above him pulling strings Going somewhere less than ideal (like a Buffalo or Cleveland)

Yeah, I was looking into that too. The CBs on 247 are all from 2017 and early 2018 though, and there have only been 3 predictions. I think we can change that easily.

We Likely get
Bresee D.J. Burch Have a decent shot at Julian Fleming A pretty good chance At Sampah Fred Davis #1 safety R.J. Mickens and E.J. Williams.
All those other players don't seem too likely

Gilbert would be great but doubtful too
Probably 50/50 for Bowman, at best
Other than that, we are probably the favorite for:
5* QB DJU 5* WR Fleming 5* DL Breese 5* DL Murphy 5* DL Burch 5* DB Davis
Never know how it will play out....somebody not currently on our radar may emerge late in the cycle too

Ricks, Gilbert & Bowman are not Clemson leans at the moment, but the others look solid. I think Sampah & Fleming also look solid, as does Mickens who will be a 5* by season's end. That still adds up to 8.

5*DE savell smalls? 5*lB justin flowers?
Both are considered long shots bc of distance but anything can happen when you are #1 and on fire as we are. Id like to see demonte capeheart get his 5th * back that he lost a few months ago. Jordan Burch has SOARED in rankings. Glad we lead for him
