76 traffic .... close Pendleton Road ?

Should state police close Pendleton Rd to keep 76 from becoming a parking lot again ?
Pendleton Rd traffic merged in, crossed 2 lanes to make a left on Perimeter Rd. For those headed to 93 like myself, this essentially shut down 76
I left Anderson at 9:30 and still missed kickoff.
Thoughts?

Not sure what the solution is, but I always aim to be in my spot no less than three hours before kickoff. Anything under that is always risky.
Same with entering the stadium. i try to walk over about an hour before kickoff.
Beating the crowd has a calming effect on me. I absolutely hate waiting in line.

You should have been parked by 9:30, not just leaving the house.
Frankly, you should have been parked by 8:30.

Just a thought, but I would suggest you should consider taking Pendleton Rd into Clemson before noon games and out of Clemson after night games to see what happens. Don't knock it til you try it.

Pendleton Road has too little volume to impact 76 traffic. The problem from that direction has always been the flow down Perimeter Road from 76 to the stadium.
For a noon game, especially the opener, leaving Anderson later than 8:30 is a risk.
Sorry that you missed the kickoff. I've resigned to going early, chilling out before the game, rather than being stressed out in the car.

Problem is you've got police directing traffic and they have no clue. All they do is create traffic jams. Just use the traffic lights and things would be just fine.

its a mess. you might try coming in via Fant's Grove Road to Cherry Rd to Perimeter. good luck.

No....my parents live that way and often stop in downtown Pendleton to pick up breakfast for early games.
But....they also left their house at 6:00 am yesterday.
